Download Latest Thunderbird for Linux:
Thunderbird 17.0.6 x86_64 tar.bz2-
Double-Click on Archive and Extract it Into the /tmp Directory.
- Open Terminal Window
- Relocate Thunderbird:
- Login as the SuperUser
su
- Relocate Thunderbird
mv /tmp/thunderbird /opt/
Make a SymLink
ln -fs /opt/thunderbird/thunderbird /usr/bin/thunderbird
Then to Start Thunderbird from Terminal
thunderbird
- Login as the SuperUser
