  1. Download Latest Eclipse for Java on Linux:

    Then Extract into /tmp

  3. Open Terminal Window:

  4. Relocate Eclipse
    su
    mv /tmp/eclipse /opt
  5. Create a Symlink
    ln -s /opt/eclipse/eclipse /usr/bin/eclipse

    After you can Start Eclipse JSE from Terminal simply with:

    eclipse
